A Crash Course On Mechanical Royalties - Part 2: Bring On The Dough

Robert KlembasJuly 12, 2016Welcome to the second part of our ongoing series on the ‘mechanics behind the mechanical royalties’… These articles aim at lifting the curtain on one of the most discussed sources of revenue in the music industry. In case you haven’t read the first part covering the basics on what mechanical royalties are and aren’t, I’d strongly recommend to do so. If you have, you are now well prepared for diving into deeper waters without having to fear dangerous underwater riffs…See More

Slip-N-Slide CEO Not Surprised Ross Tops Chart

April 29, 2009 - RB Hip-Hop

By Mariel Concepcion, N.Y.

After speculations on whether or not Rick Ross would outsell fellow rapper Asher Roth this week, or whether or not his beef with 50 Cent would affect his sales overall, Rick Ross tops the Billboard 200 this week with "Deeper Than Rap" (Slip-N-Slide/Def Jam), shifting 158,000 its first week.

Additionally, only 39 releases scored first week sales north of 25,000.

Hey Jonathan, thank you for this site.  It's a wonderful avenue for those in the Music Industry.  I recently heard from Suze Orman (financial analyst and the Suze Orman Show).  She said that she thought my Oprah song was great and she posted it on her twitter page.  I also heard from Muhammad Ali, Jr.  He loved my "The Time Is Now" video which has his dad in it.  Internet and the Social Networks are a great way to spread the love of music and entertainment.  Thank you for all that you do.  Blessings.  Midge
